This would be especially relevant in the age of “AI” when most tasks are handled by computers and machines. Overcoming hurdles is what makes us alive and well. What does it mean for the future?

Absolutely love this! I think often about that 'Creative people need time to sit around and do nothing' quote - and we're ALL creative people!

This piece is so thought-provoking! It made me reflect even more on how we’re constantly surrounded by distractions. I recently wrote something that touches on this—about how silence can be a powerful tool for reconnecting with ourselves and our most authentic ideas. If you're interested in this kind of reflection, I’d love for you to check out my latest post: https://open.substack.com/pub/thedaythesocialmediadied/p/the-sound-of-silence?r=yx9g4&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true.

Let’s explore together the importance of slowing down and rediscovering the peace of silence.

Boredom, often seen as the enemy, is actually a gateway to creativity and self-growth. By embracing it, we open ourselves to real opportunities for change and discovery. Instead of filling every moment with distractions, we can use the stillness to reconnect with ourselves and explore what truly matters. Boredom isn't a void—it's a space for transformation.

Thank you for so much for this piece - I actually searched the word "boredom" in Substack, found this article and it was just what I needed 🥰

I'm a mindfulness coach and I literally teach others how to slow down; and something that comes up a lot is that people get bored. And it happens to me too; I find that every time I slow down my life more, I have a period where I struggle with "nah, this is TOO slow, I'm genuinely bored now". This post reminded me of everything I need to know, the stuff we need other people to tell us when our brain is trying to tell us the opposite. It IS ok to be bored, in fact it's good and I'm not doing the wrong thing by creating even more space and slowness in my life.

And I am 100% making a BORED acronym sign for my wall (and I LOVE the fact it'll be great activity for next time I am in fact bored 🥰). Thanks so much x
